FILM NIGHT@Dennington Village Hall, 12th June

Our next film, on Friday 12th June, is Hamnet (Cert. 12). Based on the best selling book by Maggie O’Farrell, Hamnet is set in 16th century England, where young tutor and writer William Shakespeare meets Agnes and they fall in love. They have three children, two daughters – Susanna and Judith – and a son – Hamnet. Shakespeare’s career as a playwright starts to take off but this tests his relationship with Agnes and his children. Then tragedy strikes. Very loosely based on real events in Shakespeare’s life, Hamnet has been described as ‘A haunting journey through deep sorrow, beautifully captured by Chloé Zhao – Hamnet will utterly crush you.’ The film starts at 7.30 and the bar and doors open at 7.00. Entrance is £5 (£3 for 12-16 year olds).
Please note: Hamnet is an our final film this summer, as we will be taking a two month break until FILM NIGHT returns in September.
